"Welcome to Spring" Outdoor Concert with Susan Greenbaum -a socially distant outdoor concert with distanced group pods. Come together and celebrate spring outdoors while enjoying the lovely music of Richmond's own wonderfully talented singer/songwriter, Susan Greenbaum!

Tickets are $30 per 1-2 person pod, $50 per 3-4 person pod and $20 per person at the door - based on availability. Call 804-261-ARTS for tickets and more information.

Individually marked out Pod Sections will be 10 feet X 10 feet.
Susan will perform on a stage 4 feet high from the ground. All ticket holders must agree to comply with safety precautions put in place during the event, as outlined below. Social distancing and wearing a mask are required while walking to the entry point and waiting in line for check-in. The venue is the grass field to the right of the Main Center as viewed from the parking lot.

Safety

It is important that you read this section carefully. For the safety of our guests, staff, volunteers, performers and partners, your ticket purchase indicates that you have read and agree to abide by the following safety protocols. Anyone who does not comply with these policies will be asked to leave the property without a refund.

• Pod Section Capacity –Your pod should never contain more than the number you purchased for that pod,(1 to 4 people).

• Face Coverings – Face coverings that cover both the nose and mouth at all times are required for entry, exit and whenever you are outside your designated pod. Face coverings are recommended for any children older than two years old. Face coverings are required for staff and volunteers at all times.

• Social Distancing – Each pod will be a minimum of 6 feet away from adjacent pods, and walkways will be a minimum of 6 feet wide. The walkways to the left and right/ front and back of each pod must remain clear of items. Please do not sit or congregate in the walkways. When waiting in line please maintain 6 feet distance between you and the guest in front of you. Please stay in your own pod at all times unless entering or exiting the area. Face coverings must be worn when you are outside of your pod.

• Hand Sanitizer – Hand sanitizer will be available inside the buildings should you need to go in to use the restroom facilities.  We recommend bringing sanitizer for your own personal use outside in the concert/pod area.

• Gates will open at 2:00pm.

• Tickets can be purchased by phone or in-person.

• Pods are not pre-assigned at purchase. At the gate, pre-sold pods will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Tickets will also be offered at the gate (if available) at $20 per person beginning fifteen minutes before the performance begins. Pods will be assigned per group (i.e., strangers will not be seated in the same pod).

• All attendees in a POD must check-in for the event together at the same time, no exceptions. Attendees will not be checked in until every member of the pod is present. Pod seating will be first come, first served, and no changes will be allowed once the group is in their pod.

• While waiting to enter the venue, please follow instructions according to staff, volunteers and signage, wear a face covering at all times and observe social distancing.

• Blankets and lawn chairs are recommended; chairs will not be provided. All items must fit within the square footage of your pod.

• No tents, canopies, alcohol or pets are permitted.

• No smoking or vaping in the Center Field or in the entry line.

• No refunds with the exception of event cancellation.

LOVE LETTERS is comprised of their letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people who grew up together, went their separate ways, but continued to share confidences. Join us on Saturday, April 17th at 3pm at The Cultural Arts Center’s Center Field as Brad Spivey performs country classics! This is a 60-minute socially distant outdoor, solo, acoustic concert. Many of you will recognize Brad Spivey as the front-man of The Honky Tonk Experience, our "Evening of Country" band for many years. This show will feature the same classic country style you've enjoyed in the past, but with a more intimate and personal vibe. Kind of like an old friend with his guitar singing your favorite songs by the campfire. Brad's solo shows are very popular, and you're sure to enjoy this one!

This outside, socially distant, 60-minute concert will include some of Desiree’s favorite jazz songs, sure to put a smile on your face and some Spring in your step! Love Is in The Air at The Cultural Arts Center!

Join us September 15th at 6pm, as we unveil our new LOVE sign which is a part of the Virginia Tourism Corporation’s LOVEworks. Be one of the first to take your photo in front of Virginia's newest LOVE sign, using #LOVEVA, #artsglenallen and #visitvirginia.

The sign highlights The Center’s programming and offerings, from art classes and performances to creative spaces to celebrate special events. Recycled materials and supplies gathered to create the sign include: 1,975 buttons of assorted sizes, 70 pencils, 7,000 small beads, 150 mosaic tiles, 100 popsicle sticks, over 50 jar lids, 6 gallons of exterior paint, 4 sheets of plywood, and more! Join us at 6pm on September 15th at the main entrance of The Center to see the finished project and celebrate with us!

Local makers and artists of all levels are invited to shop for new materials to encourage their creativity. This ‘yard sale’ will be held indoors and admission is free and open to the public. Interested in becoming a vendor? Clean out your creative space and put some extra cash in your pocket! The Center's Tree Lighting program will begin at 4:30pm - OUTDOORS
The Center’s Illumination Festival will run from 5-7pm

Celebrate the holidays with us at our Annual Tree Lighting and Illumination Event December 4th from 4:30-7pm at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen!

Outdoor tree lighting! Plus, enjoy live music and a stroll through The Center to marvel at our artisan tree and wreath exhibit. Live music will include performances by the Henrico Pops Chorus, Offering, and The Midnight Ukulele Society! Plus, bring the kids to enjoy a special visit from Santa! Santa will also sing with the Midnight Ukulele Society and do a reading of 'Twas The Night Before Christmas in our sculpture garden! The local artist elves have also been very busy in our gift shop full of unique, handcrafted gift items – perfect for knocking out your holiday shopping early!

Despite masks being required while inside the building at all times, this bit of joy is what we all need this season! We look forward to seeing you at this special holiday event that’s free and fun for the whole family!

They will discuss the backstory, as well as historical precedents for this exhibition, while also revealing insights about each artist and their work.  The gallery talk is free and open to the public.

A portion of each sale will be donated to World Central Kitchen, an organization on the ground feeding Ukrainians in need.  On display during the month of August in our Slantwall Gallery.
