Please note: Mountain Road will be closed beginning on 2/26 and this closure is expected to last for approximately one month.  Detour signs will be posted. THE OFFICIAL DETOUR ROUTE DURING THE TIME OF CLOSURE WILL BE Woodman Road -> Terry Drive -> Purcell Road -> MOUNTAIN ROAD.

If you are coming the Center on I 295, take the Woodman Road South Exit (#45 B).  Cross over Mountain Road and proceed approximately one mile.  Turn Right onto Terry.  When Terry ends, turn right onto Purcell.  When Purcell ends turn right onto Mountain Road.  Proceed to the Center’s main entrance indicated by the electronic sign and turn left into the Center.

The other option is to come from Staples Mill traveling East.  (The road closure does not affect this route…but the train track might.) safe travels and we look forward to having you visit!

The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen

Utilizing the unique and memorable features of the old Glen Allen School, this 50,300 square foot multi-use facility opened as The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen in 1999. To bring together the best in visual, literary and performing arts, the Center presents impeccable programming, as well as hosts outside arts organizations.

On any given week, a visitor may experience an art exhibition, concerts by nationally known artists, your favorite plays and musicals, modern and classic dance performances, outstanding shopping, arts education and more. Area corporations utilize our facility for meetings, workshops and retreats. The Center is also the site of many happy weddings, anniversaries, reunions and birthday celebrations.

The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen is a vital community resource for creativity and education in the visual and performing arts.

Additional Concerts, Plays, Performances, Classes

The Center works closely with many local and regional arts organizations and presenters who use this venue as a place to present performances, offer classes, and exhibit fine art.

  • Our 350 seat theater is available to rent for special events and performances throughout the year.
  • The County of Henrico Division of Recreation and Parks offers a summer performing arts camp, CenterStage.
  • Henrico Theatre Company offers a sold-out season of drama, comedy and musical theatre.
