While the world marveled at her 3-octave contra alto range, she humbly considered herself to be “a drummer who sang.” Karen rose to fame in the early 70’s along with her brother Richard as darlings of the easy-listening duo, The Carpenters. Together they turned out a slew of hits including “Close to You”, “Rainy Days and Mondays”, “I’m On the Top of the World”, “Superstar”, “Bless the Beasts and the Children”, “Merry Christmas Darling” and many, many more. Join Shannon Gibson Brown as she serenades in this beautiful salute to the music of Karen Carpenter. Accompanied by J. David Clatterbuck. Two shows only!
