Calendar Info

The Cultural Arts Center is creating a 2023 calendar featuring art by Virginia artists. We will select up to 13 works of art to be included (one per month plus cover art). Artists whose work is selected to be featured will receive one free calendar each

If you would like your art to be considered for this project, please review the submission guidelines below and turn in images to be considered by no later than September 11^th.

Submission Guidelines

Each artist may submit up to 2 pieces for consideration. Only one piece per selected artist will be chosen.
Art needs to be landscape format (horizontal) and rectangular in shape to fit the calendar format.
Images of artwork must be JPEG or PDF format at 300 dpi or higher (high res).
Images submitted for consideration is the one that will be used in the calendar, if selected. Therefore, images must be clean, in-focus, well-lit, and void of any backgrounds, people/body parts, glares or reflections, etc. Please consider having your work professionally photographed or scanned for this project.
Artist will understand that, if art is chosen, it may be cropped to fit the format, if needed.
Image files should be labelled in this format: “Title – Artist’s Name”. This info will be used to label your work in the calendar, if selected. Please list the title and name exactly as you’d like them listed in the calendar, if selected.
All mediums and styles may be considered. Both 2-D and 3-D art are acceptable.
Email images for consideration to programs@artsglenallen.com with the subject line “Calendar Art Submission.”
All artwork to be considered must be received by no later than 11:59pm on 9/11/22.

After Submission

Artists will be alerted by 9/19/22 whether their artwork has been chosen.
Calendars will be available for pre-order through the Center’s online gift shop starting on 9/19/22.
Calendars will be for sale through the gift shop both online and in-person once finished product is received in October. It will also be featured in this year’s Handmade for the Holidays digital catalog, coming in late-October.
