An art-making program for people with dementia and their caregivers, O.M.A. (Opening Minds through Art) is an award-winning, evidence-based, intergenerational art-making program for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other neurocognitive disorders.

Since 2013, The Center has partnered with Henrico Police Athletic League (PAL) to provide a full academic year of afterschool, on-site, visual arts programming at 4 elementary schools. Henrico PAL strives to bridge the gap between police officers and the community. In appreciation of their mission, The Center provides instructors and art supplies free of charge in a partnership that enriches young lives through Art.
Calling all thespians and artists! Want to jumpstart your summer with fun, friendship, and far too much creativity?! The summer camps at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen dedicate a full week to learning new skills in either Art or Theatre. At the end of the week, campers will share their talent in an art exhibit or live performance.

James River Juvenile Detention Center: In October of 2018 Hamilton Glass, Richmond Artist and Muralist, held a three-day workshop with 15 student artists at JRJDC to brainstorm and conceptualize a mural project for the JRJDC gym.
Henrico Juvenile Detention Home: The Center employs a mentor to teach a bi-weekly Chess Club, sharing insight and creating chess-like parallels with real life choices.
By taking jewelry and craft classes directly to senior communities, residents enjoy a piece of the Cultural Arts Center in the convenience of their own activity centers. Currently, classes are provided at Aspire at West End and Westmont at Short Pump.
The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen relies upon the generosity of friends, corporations, foundations, the County of Henrico and its Board of Directors to provide first-rate programming to the greater Richmond community at affordable prices. The Center is the only regional facility to provide access to the performing, visual and literary arts through performances and classes. As a registered 501(c)3 organization, contributions to The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen are tax deductible to the extent of the law. Gifts of any amount increase the quantity and quality of artistic opportunities available to the community. Donations may be made by cash, securities or credit card and can be made in a single payment or in installments.
